What is Value proposition?

A value proposition is a clear statement of the result a customer gets from you, why they can believe it, how quickly it happens, and how much effort it takes. It explains why someone should choose you.

Formula

Value = (dream outcome × perceived likelihood of achieving it) ÷ (time delay × effort and sacrifice). This value equation was popularized by Alex Hormozi.

Example

Weak: "An AI-powered platform for business planning." Stronger: "Know exactly what to work on each day, based on your own customers and numbers, in a few minutes a day instead of weeks of planning."

Why it matters for early-stage founders

It is the core of your website, your pitch and your sales conversations. If it is vague, every channel underperforms, and you end up competing on price.

The common mistake

Listing features instead of outcomes. Customers buy the result and the confidence they will get it, not the mechanism.
