What is Pricing strategy?
A pricing strategy is your approach to setting prices: what you charge, how you package it and how price reflects the value customers get, based on cost, competitors or customer value.
Example
Instead of pricing a reporting tool at cost plus margin ($10), a founder learns it saves each agency 6 hours a month worth $300, and launches at $79 with a higher tier for teams.
Why it matters for early-stage founders
Price is the fastest lever on revenue and also signals quality. Too low attracts the wrong customers and leaves no budget for growth.
The common mistake
Setting the first price by looking at competitors only. Start from the value to your best customer, then check it against alternatives.
